You cannot chain multi-USB DACs together to form multi-channel DAC but you can easily chain 4pc DAC202 together in series to form the ultimate 7.1 (8ch) surround audio DAC with master clock connection. It is especially designed for media transfer (video/audio), and peer to peer connection.
In recording studio, we have been using firewire since day one. A lot of people asked why Weiss is using firewire, the answer is simply as "why not". But Daniel and I have said many times that Firewire or USB should have no difference in sound quality when both are implemented correctly. Some people think we must/should be heavily promoting Firewire is better sounding than USB. AES/EBU, S/PDIF are all standards, which means they work as what they should. Weiss Jason CD Transport has AES output on RCA since 2004.
In general, to name which digital connection or format is better than the rest is technically incorrect as this is again based on each manufacturer (or even each product) implementation.
